The following is a shortstroy of what happened today. Take note that some of this info (eg. Names...etc) have been changed for confidentiality.

Written by: Jeremy , 31st March

The yellow slip of paper, folded tightly in my hands, was placed gently into the teacher's pigeonhole. I hesitated, unsure if this decision I was making would be the right one.

*The school could use good leaders like you.*
Those words rang in my head.

    *You definately have leadership qualities.*

I closed my eyes...reflecting back on the conversation with him.

It was a day with the cloudy skyline- he called me outside during the change of subject period. He was a man in his late twenties- a chubby man, bispectecled and wise. A certain quality of this man- his name was Mr. Chua- was simply appealing...as a good friend. It's easy to associate with someone of this genre.

'I've nominated you for the student council.' He said.

I looked at him with my best. I was overwhelmed with confusion and bits of shock. I had never...never thought of being nominated. Not me. Not nerdy Jeremy...

He went on to explain why he thought I'd make a good leader. He said things on influence, leadership qualities...etc...

But in my heart, I knew that I was not totally satisfied.

'What about my studies? I barely have enough time to keep up with all of these responsibilities pured onto me.' I replied, making sure I chose the right words.

'That's where time management comes in.' He smiled. ' Everybody needs to learn how to managed their time wisely.'

I stood there, bewildered, as he passed me the yellow nomination slip.

    Hesitantly, I took it.

    Cheers.
